Popp's Ferry Elementary School sings the Blues.... and loves it.

The Blues is taught to the fourth grade at Popp's Ferry Elementary School.

Art teacher Brandi Hoxie offers lessons in her weekly art class to inform and excite the fourth graders about the rich history the Blues has in Mississippi.  The state of Mississippi has so much to offer when it comes to studying Blues music history,  Music that originated from the Mississippi Delta.

Mississippi the birth place of American music provides so much great information regarding the Blues Trail that crisscrosses the state, to the historical icons such as Willie Dixon, and the famous talents of today like Mister Pimms and Kern Pratt.   This art lesson includes painting a wooden cutout of a guitar and hearing a live Blues concert.

Take a listen as Steve Warren, Seadon Faulkner, and Swanny on drums delight the fourth graders.  Music is a great way to teach and learn, Popp's Ferry Elementary offers a wonderful fresh way of experiencing education in Biloxi Mississippi.
